Wood Floor Hardness Data

HARDNESS represents the resistance of wood to wear and marring. It is a standardized and independent measurement indicated by the load required to embed a 0.444 inch ball to one half its diameter in the wood. These figures are used to compare the relative hardness of a specie only, as noted by the NWFA (National Hardwood Flooring Association - Technical Publication No. A200, Sep-2002).
